She was orphaned at a young age, her parents taken from her by greedy bandits in search of magic. The men tried to steal her away too, but she escaped from their crate in the middle of the night. While she was free, however, that freedom came at a price. She was lost, never reunited with her kin. The loss devastated her fragile heart, and she was forced to fend for herself in the big world. She was never alone though. The trees and animals became her friends. She was raised by a family of foxes, and the playful orange-pelted cubs were her brothers and sisters.
It was a peaceful life of harmony among the flora and fauna, but eventually Freya grew curious of what was hidden beyond the trees. She began to venture farther and farther from home on curious expeditions, and on one of her adventures she bumped into a group of traveling men. She was wary of them at first, remembering what humans had done to he parents, but her curiosity was unquenchable. They looked like her, only with tiny ears. Freya became fascinated by humans after that, and despite the warnings she received from the animals, her curiosity drove her to learn more about them. She stole trinkets from travelers and spied on nearby villages from the treetops.
It wasn't until she met a wounded man in the forest, however, that she chose to give up her roots. He had been attacked by wolves, and Freya took him into her care and nursed him back to health. She became dearly attached to him during this time. When he was well enough to leave, she went with him, accompanying him on his journey as his guide. Her intrigue was one-sided though, and it cost her great heartache, for when the man reached his destination he left her without a goodbye.
After being abandoned by the human she had become so fond of, Freya ventured into one of the villages and tried to find a new life there. As much as she loved the trees and her animal friends, she found herself unable to return to the solitude of the forest. Alas, a forest elf had no place among mortals – not after the conflicted history between the elves and the humans – and she soon found herself on the road again. Avalon is the closest she has ever been to any of her own kind, but even now, having been granted a home among the other magic folk, she's still a bit of a lost girl, a misfit.POWERBeing a forest elf, she has a strong affinity with nature — perhaps even stronger than most because of the ways she was raised. Freya can speak with the animals and plants easier than she can with other elves. She also has a healing ability. This is a power that is only just budding, however, and she hasn't yet grasped its full potential.OOChazelSHINING TEARS, elwyn
