Faeline and her brother Rayth were playing in the woods. It was out by the garden, past the wood shed, that she discovered that plants moved with her. She was so happy, mouth twitched in the largest grin her brother had ever seen. Her mother had long been dead. A fever swept through the elfen village. Many had survived, but her mother did not. She was an elf, her father a human. He bore no magical straights, just strength and honesty. Her mother, however, had an affinity for nature manipulation. Faeline couldn't remember what her mother could do, but she did remember plants swaying with a wave of a hand. She danced around, wisking plants out of their glooming sleep. She could still remember that happiness drenched in blood as she stared into the eyes of a wolf so big, it would have eaten her whole. The happiness she could remember. She could remember smiling even as the wolf emerged from the tempting shadows. Her brother had warned her that the flowers in the dark should be left alone. Neither of them realized that in the shadows lurked a Were so corrupted by darkness, becoming human was impossible. Faeline remembered dropping her basket and screaming even as the Were tore her brother down. He came for her, teeth gnashing and snout dripping in blood. Her scream tore through the air, bringing her father barreling out of the house. Crossbow in hand, he attacked the beast and sent it back into the woods.
Grief struck her father hard. He loved both his children, but Rayth was his son, his first born. Faeline could see the torment in his eyes as the pain began to wither away at his heart. She stared in the mirror with eyes that were so like Rayths it was as if he were looking back at her. They were almost identical in looks. Her facehad been a tad slimmer but she could blame that on the famine. In her head brewed a plan. Her father's happiness was more important to her than life itself. It was after the funeral, after they had buried her brother, that she came to her father. Faeline sliced off her hair, knicked her arm like they world a first born, and held him tightly. She begged him to let her take Rayth's place. She knew she could never replace him, but atleast she could replace the image of him. No one knew that it was his son that had died. The report only said that he lost a child. Her father selfishly allowed her to discard her femine life all so he could have his son back.
When she turned fifteen her father passed away from natural causes. On his death bed, he told Faeline that she was to start attending a school for gifted students. He gave her the paper work to fill out, and told her that she could go back to living a female's life, that she didn't have to keep her promise anymore.
Faeline loved her father, right down to her very being. Her admission letter arrived, signed, “Dear Mr. Snow...”
Take what you can and leave me to the wolvesABILITIES
As she is a half elf,(Half Wood Elf, Half Human) she has a strong affinity for nature. She can sometimes feel what the trees and animals feel around her. She also can manipulate plants, weaving and bending them to her will. She can go as far as making a wall of roots and vines to protect herself, to speeding up or assisting the growth of a seed.OOCVoxyOriginal Character
