HISTORY

Once upon a time, in one of Fantasia's now forgotten kingdoms, he was a prince. He was born in a world of the finest things, raised by royalty. They said that the boy would take the throne, but the day of his coronation ceremony was the day of his death. Vampires ravaged the castle with a sickly vengeance toward his power hungry father. They devoured the king and queen and drained the blood of all those who got in their way. It was a massacre. Draven will never forget the vehement pain of the bite to his neck, nor will he forget the unbearable torment of the change.

He should have died, but he didn't. Instead, his heart turned to stone, his blood dried into ash, and he woke from the dead with marble skin and bloodshot eyes. For a long time, he was a beast. He ran rampant through the land, slaughtering humans to satiate his incurable hunger. When the hunters came at him with bows and arrows dipped in poison, he would not die. He was a dangerous, immortal evil that had been born.

When his hunger finally began to ebb and the fog in his brain cleared, he re-discovered a spark of his former humanity. Draven was anguished with what he had done, ashamed of his blood-stained hands. It took him a while to remember what had happened, but when he did, anger flared within him and his eternal goal became vengeance. It started as vengeance toward the vampires that had destroyed his kingdom, but he was captured and brainwashed. They held him in a dark cell with a jagged spear over his heart, and whispered dark words in his ears.

They created a monster out of him. Draven took what he had been taught and used it against his captors. He tore out the throat of their leader, taking his own place among the coven, almighty among the vampiric empire. Some revered him, others feared him, and many wished him dead. He was eventually sold out by one of his own, betrayed, and taken hostage by the humans. They tortured him until he was tame and confused, a raven with a broken wing. He was left to die with a burning stake in his heart, but he was saved. Saved by what could only be an angel. He can't remember his savior's face, but he knows they brought him to this place. A strange sanctuary where no one knows what a terror he once was before he was broken.

POWER

When Draven was turned, his mind changed in drastic ways, became sharper. He is attuned with the thoughts of others, and unless they put up a barricade to block his intrusions, he can infiltrate their deepest thoughts. For the most part, he can only study his victim's present mindset, but if he concentrates he can delve into their past. Along with this, Draven has the ability to cast illusions. Once he gets into someone's mind, he can use their thoughts against them and trap them in a waking nightmare.
